Searching for the next peak

It's funny but it's true that I have recurring themes because they are beliefs about certain things that I have. Years ago I touched on the topic but within the context of blogging . The message here was the following. Don't look for the next wave but start climbing that mountain step by step. Entrepreneurs, and even more so if they have little experience, do the same. They become obsessed looking for that idea, that action, that campaign, etc. that changes everything. Very rarely does one thing come up that changes the entire game. In the same way there are people around the world who win in the lottery practically every day.

The question in both cases is this. Is playing tag really the Phone Number List best use of your resources (time and money)? Failure to make the decision “Sometimes I'm not motivated” was a phrase my friend told me. “Motivation is for losers” was my response. You don't need motivation and discipline is not the solution either. Discipline requires making the decision over and over whether to take action or not. On the weekend I don't make the decision to go running on Saturday and Sunday. I already decided that years ago along with the way I see myself: I am a runner.



The runners run. Entrepreneurs undertake. “What you haven't done yet is make the decision about whether you really want to do it or not,” I told him. Once the decision is made, the actions continue. Right now there is still money holding him back in his head. He doesn't really need it and I outlined the “step by step” path of small actions he could do every day. “Imagine where you could be in a year, if you did this every day,” I told him. Sometimes we overestimate the peaks and undervalue the little insignificant things that can be very powerful in sum. A serious mistake.
