Since artificial intelligences were proposed in fiction, long before they could be conceived, they brought with them a series of debates and discussions regarding the destiny of humanity. On the one hand, there were proposals in which technology could help and improve the world; On the other hand, there were scholars who proposed the domination of machines and the inevitable disappearance of human beings. However, now that artificial intelligences are immersed in our daily lives, with companies like Brainbox, dedicated to the development of AIs, what can be said? Are artificial intelligences really as good or as bad as was proposed at the time? Could these solve environmental or climate change problems? Although the term Artificial Intelligence can have different definitions, most choose to define it as the combination of a series of algorithms programmed with the intention that they can carry out and solve tasks resembling the capabilities of the human being. In that sense, when talking about Artificial Intelligences we think of a kind of autonomy of man-made machines; and, of course, its main objective is to facilitate the completion of tasks.

The Brainbox company, under these terms, not only seeks to develop the optimization of the Artificial Intelligences it programs, but, given the current environmental conditions, proposes the development of AIs that optimize the intelligent use of air conditioning systems. in the buildings of large cities. According to John Loric's article, Can AI terminate climate change… or is it even a greater threat? , 27% of carbon emissions Tunisia Phone Number List are emitted by such air systems. For this reason, Brainbox programs its Artificial Intelligence to make weather forecasts and be able to regulate the temperature of the air systems operating in buildings, significantly saving fuel and, at the same time, emitting fewer emissions. Despite what has been said, scholars such as Geoffrey Hinton, professor at the University of Toronto and specialist in artificial neural networks, highlight the possible contradictions in the development of Artificial Intelligences, highlighting the possibility of loss of control of said intelligences, without leaving aside the emphasis on the problems of climate change. Hinton replies: “I wouldn't want to downplay climate change.

I wouldn't want to say something like “they shouldn't worry about climate change.” That's also a big risk. But I think this could also end up being urgent” —Geofrey Hinton, prominent professor at the University of Toronto. In addition to this, there are scholars and theorists who expose the difficulties that Artificial Intelligence has not yet become widespread, since this prevents the knowledge of an exact figure that allows us to know the impact on the environment with its implementation. From the perspective of these specialists, falling into techno-solutionism could be a mistake that ends up affecting environmental problems to a greater extent. Although there are currently different forms of Artificial Intelligence , such as GPT Chat, Open AI, or, in another measure, cell phones themselves, every day there are more companies and firms that are beginning to implement Artificial Intelligence to reduce the impacts on the planet, such as  which has begun to use intelligent software in the design of its projects.
