Utah is nicknamed the "Hive State" because of its founding fathers' admiration for the hard work and perseverance of worker bees. But according to a 2014 Pew Research Center study on religion, a more appropriate nickname might be "Believe in the Nation." More than half of Utahans (53%) say they attend worship at least once a week. Considering that more than 60% of Utah's population is part of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, also known as Mormonism, it's no surprise that Utah ranks first among states for church attendance. Somewhat surprisingly, however, only 61 percent of Utah residents said they "believe in God with absolute certainty" and "pray every day.
