For signmakers looking to expand their product range with high-quality prints, Epson announced in mid-September the launch of its first UV LED flatbed printer. The SureColor SC-V7000 is based on the award-winning SureColor S Series range of printers and is available from November. The new printer uses Epson's Micro Piezo print heads and is available in combination with the company's ten new original inks including: Light Cyan, Light Magenta, Grey, Red, White and Clear Varnish in the standard version. The printing table is equipped with a 4-zone vacuum system in the standard version, allowing operators to use only the area required for the printing job. Additional features include an ionizer (to reduce static electricity on the surface of the media), as well as material alignment pins that offer printer ease of use, efficiency and productivity. These are aided by Epson Edge Print RIP software along with UV Flatbed control software which in turn enable operators to speed up printing and produce high quality products easily and repeatably.

The total surface of materials that the printer can print is meters with a thickness of up to 8 centimeters. The printing materials can be, among others, acrylic sheets, PVC, aluminum, metal sheets, polyester, wood, stone, etc. PREVIOUS 2 new roll to roll printers from Mimaki NEXT Konica Minolta's new toner based machines have been upgraded Read more. Now, the automated process, according to the company, provides high functionality and significantly reduces workload, while providing consistent high-quality printing. Along with the DAS system, the new 1.61m printers incorporate MAPS4 (Mimaki Advanced Pass System 4) technologies which corrects the problem of banding (lines with uneven ink distribution created by the movement of the head along the carrier), the NCU (Nozzle Check Unit) technology, a control & cleaning system for the nozzles of the head, and finally the NRS (Nozzle Recovery System) technology, with which defective nozzles are replaced, during operation, so that there is no need to stop printing. In terms of print speed, Mimaki claims the two new printers print up to 180% faster than the company's JV150 printer. In gloss PVC and 6-pass four-color printing, the printers cover 20 square meters per hour, while in tarpaulin with 4-pass quality, they reach 27.4 square meters/hour.
